I had a terrible experience at Westlake Houston Automotive. I went in for a simple oil change, and when they finished, the metal guard covering the oil plug completely came off. It was clear they didn't put it back on properly. I had to make an extra trip back, and they tried to lie, saying it was already zip-tied together, which it definitely was not. They "fixed" the problem by zip-tying it back into place. I left again, and while driving about 60 on the highway, it fell off once more, scraping the concrete and getting bent out of shape. I had to return yet again to get it redone. If you want your vehicle in worse shape than before, go to them! They will lie straight to your face and do a shoddy job. Not surprising at all. Do not bring your business here—you're better off letting someone off the street do it. They'd probably do a better job!
Mr. Bangs, West Lake Houston Automotive has been taking care of customers since 2005. We are not perfect and are quick to rectify a situation when we make an error. I am sorry that you feel we damaged your skid plate. The reason you did not see it hanging down before arrival is the skid plate was actually pushed up and around the exhaust. Our technician had to remove it from the position it was located just to do the oil change. Damage to these skid plates is very common and could be the result of something hit in the road, pulling up too far to a parking spot, etc. We attempted to fix it using zip ties because, upon arrival, the rivets were missing due to the impact that caused the damage to the part. Although I do not believe we were the cause of the damage, if you would be kind enough to reach out to me, I will be glad to offer a resolution to the issue. Tim Strobel Owner
